TAA POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE (PAC)
TAA’s PAC is an integral part of TAA’s advocacy efforts on behalf of the Texas rental housing industry.
Texas has one of the nation’s best operating climates for the rental housing industry, and the Texas Apartment Association advocates on behalf of our members to keep it that way.
The Texas Apartment Association’s Political Action Committee is one of the largest trade association PACs in Texas. As an essential part of TAA’s advocacy efforts, the TAA PAC pools the voluntary contributions of our investor members to support candidates for the Texas Legislature and for statewide office who favor a healthy business climate for the state, our industry and our communities.
Who can contribute to the TAA PAC?
TAA members and local associations contribute to the TAA PAC. Contributions are voluntary and are used for political purposes. The TAA PAC accepts contributions from individuals, sole proprietorships and LLCs without corporate ownership. The TAA PAC does not accept corporate funds. PAC investments are not tax deductible.
How are TAA PAC funds used?
We support candidates for the Texas Legislature and for statewide elected offices. In some cases, the TAA PAC contributes to candidates for local elected offices. The TAA PAC is nonpartisan.
Who decides how TAA PAC funds are used?
Volunteer leaders who serve on TAA’s Legislative Committee discuss and make contribution recommendations to candidates based on feedback from local association members and staff, and from TAA’s government affairs team. The Legislative Committee approves donations to candidates for Texas House and Texas Senate, and the full TAA Board approves contributions to candidates for statewide office.
